The city of Leon is considered as an investment destination by three private companies that might be constructing new hotels of its brand.
Took a while to get the hotels going… Leon has been receiving a lot tourism thanks to the Feria Internacional del Globo (Hot Air Balloon International Fair? Sloppy translation so you get the meaning). People really struggle on getting a room at Leon during this event, everything would get booked and had to find a place where to stay in nearby towns or cities.. Its tough since the event starts very early in the morning (perhaps 4 or 5 a.m.), so having to take a drive to Leon earlier than that its not that wonderful.
Gloria Cano, Director of Hospitality and Tourism in Leon, said that among the issues being evaluated by investors, includes projections in expenses that the government would have to make, state and region wise, infrastructure and connectivity services.
Holiday Inn Plaza Mayor, La Quinta Inn & Suites, NH Poliforum, One León Altacia and Hilton Garden Inn are hotels that would be added to the project which happen to be in construction already and will open to the public this year, and recently added Best Western Premium to open to the public in 2017.
During 2015 through 2017, the city would be having 1,193 rooms with ranking between 3 and 5 stars, in which higher service standards will be generated that allow a rise in stays in the city through major events and tourism products, Gloria Cano added.
