About time they made some change to their terminals don’t you think?!
With the expansion of Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 at Cancun International Airport (AIC), they expect their air traffic capacity to increase by 40% between 2016 and 2018.
The CEO of Asur, Fernando Chico Pardo, explained that since Asur took over of AIC in the late 90s, the volume of the domestic tourism increased 54% country wise and 43% internationally; they have invested about $7,000 million pesos (MXN) on infrastructure improvements.
He also highlights that AIC has become one of the largest employers in this tourist destination: “Currently, the airport generates 16,000 direct jobs, plus another 5,000 indirect, which are part of the great touristic impact that is reflected in the whole country.
Today, Cancun Airport connects with 170 airports worldwide from 80 different airlines, both national and international.
